- Begin a summer-specific nature journal to capture small daily details. Take your sketchbook outside to a local park, backyard, or a shaded bench.
- Switch up your medium by trying photography, sidewalk chalk art, or crafting with items found in nature. Design art pieces using sand, leaves, stones, or painted rocks!
- Let go of strict schedules and allow time for your mind to drift and create!
Did you join in on World Watercolor Month this year?
It was fun whether people painted every day or just some of the days….if you’d like to see what I made during July, head over to SandyPaints for a walk through them all and what I learned through the efforts. You might find a new color you’d like to try out since I used a color prompt each day. The video will be HERE at 8am Pacific today, and you can join in the live chat during the Premiere at that time!
You can still join in to help kids make art by participating in our fundraising effort for the International Child Art Foundation! We fell woefully short of our goal for July, and I have extended fundraising for 5 more days….and you can also get a little something for YOU during this extension: 10% off any adult course not already on sale! Just use coupon code SUMMER26 at checkout and the sale will be applied.
COMING SOON:
I’m working on a new class to create seashell art –I’m in a bit of a vintage mood, and am debating techniques from beautiful blue or brown inks with dip pens, dying paper to draw on, so many ideas! It’ll be a level 2 class, so I’m trying out the 30 shells I have to see which will be easiest as a followup to the popular beginner class Ink Drawing Jumpstart, using those same techniques but in combination this time.
I expect to be done in a week to 10 days, so sign up for this newsletter to be notified when it’s available for purchase! Have a great weekend! Sandy
