This intermediate course needs pencils and sketchbooks – if you’ve taken the prerequisite Drawing 101 course, you’ll have almost everything! We’ll have two lessons using Conte Sketching Pencils, that’s all that’s new.

Please go set up a free account at PMP and read the TOU, and poke around and get familiar with the site. (There are no discussion groups remaining there for students of this course.)
A toned sketchbook – with papers that are grey or tan – allow for using whites for highlights and black for darks, along with the paper for midtone.
Regular pencils are great for some elements of class, but we’ll try pastel or charcoal pencils. Any brand is fine but a few are listed here. Conté a Paris has a selection of three colors that’ll be used in some lessons. My favorites in the charcoal pencils have a *.
