Description
New and experienced watercolor pencil artists always gain by learning about this fun and accessible medium!
This class with nearly 3 hours of video instruction will help you understand your watercolor pencils, decide whether you might want to try a different brand, and learn creative ways to use them! Lessons cover a wide variety of application and blending techniques, shading and color theory. Students will create their own reference book to save as reminders of techniques that often get forgotten when we fall into a rut as artists – bringing techniques back to life again.
NOTE: While this is a class for beginners, there are no stamps involved in the exercises. Templates to download, print, trace, and add to are in many of the lessons to aid in creating the art. You can do this, even if you aren’t experienced at drawing!

While some lessons in the class are geared to papercrafters using stamps – fine artists can also learn much by applying the techniques to drawn images as well. Just substitute your own drawings when we get to the later lessons on different papers!
Students can even take this class without owning a full set of pencils! The color theory exercises will teach how to mix colors using a color wheel to create new hues. Start with what you have, and as you grow as an artist you can decide what other products might be of interest to you!
This class will get beginners started, amp up intermediate students, and deepen an advanced student’s knowledge of colored pencils – and this class serves as the prerequisite for future classes.
The lessons can be viewed anytime and at your leisure; there are hours of instruction that you can watch again and again for years to come:

I have a big set of Albrecht Dürer watecolor pencils and I don’t had an idea how to use them. Sandy’s class had shown me that this kind of watercolor is not a colored pencil but could use as it too. You learn about color combination and some very nice techniques for using watercolor pencils. My favorite lesson is the whal, this was so much fun!
