In this class, students will learn all kinds of textures, techniques and learn about surfaces in 10 exciting lessons. Celebrate the surprises that this medium offers!
The explorations help students let go of preconceived notions of what alcohol inks can do – it’s a medium that can be soft and wispy as in the Ethereal Alcohol Class or textural with great contrast as in Terrestrial! And with only three colors at our disposal in class, we’ll be watching how colors interact with each other, and discuss some elements of abstract design along the way too.
While not all the supplies are required, a variety of papers is strongly recommended, so please see the free PreClass lesson for suggestions on items to try. Some techniques shown in class use an airbrush to move color – students can get a related kind of result using a mix of isopropyl alcohol with drops of ink in mini-misters.
This class is appropriate for artists working in any genre – cardmaking, fine art, art journaling, etc. Lessons are taught on a variety of papers – varied sizes of photo paper and a variety of yupo, plastic papers, and tile.
