Maryse Legault –
I really enjoyed this class. The 10 lessons were helpful. From May to August, I came back to learn new techniques and discover how I want to sketch when I am outside. I usually prefer buildings, but with this class, I discovered I also like flowers and nature.

I just wrapped up this great ink and wash class! This is a Level 2 class, so after completing Sandy’s Watercolor Jumpstart, I found this class was the perfect level for me to enhance my growing skills. I think the Jumpstart class is the perfect foundation for learning paint consistency, color mixing, and so on. Without those, I think this Ink and Wash class would have been difficult. Nevertheless, Sandy’s sketches are super simple so that even those with minimal drawing skills can master them. Then it’s a matter of applying paint and ink. Finally, the organic nature of these sketches means that artists can loosely draw them and there are no precise angles and lines to worry about. That’s a big plus for a beginner. I highly recommend this class!

This is a great class to learn about how to use loose ink and watercolor to sketch outdoors. Although, it’s not necessary to be outdoors to use what you learn. Learning how to make simple marks with ink and then add some color is perfect for beginners and also a reminder to more experienced artists how to see and loosen up. Plus, Sandy made a wonderful video of the PowellsWood gardens in the spring. A very inspirational class.

This was a very enjoyable wash and ink course that came with some nature sounds in the background which made a pleasing and stress free atmosphere. I thoroughly enjoyed it and recommend to anyone needing some calm in their lives.
