What does “intermediate” mean here? The class is taught with paper and pens – no stamps, no sketches, no net! That doesn’t mean it’s going to be terribly difficult, but it does mean that at least a basic facility with watercolors is a must. Watercolor Jumpstart is a good prerequisite, as it goes over some of the basic water and pigment management that will be practiced in this course. Some experience with making brushstrokes and handling pigments is needed; as well as the willingness to be open and experiment on the paper.
This class is appropriate for artists working in any genre – cardmaking, fine art, animé, etc. Lessons are demonstrated on large sheets of scrap (the backs of old paintings) then a finished card-sized image taught on a small paper – each is 4-1/2″ x 6″ but can be adapted to a larger size as desired – just remember if you double the size of the paper, you may need to double the size of brushstrokes.
