(5 customer reviews)

In this intermediate Drawing class, 5 lessons will cover sketchbook drawings of safari animals. A portion of proceeds benefits World Wildlife Fund.

In this intermediate Drawing class, 5 lessons will cover sketchbook drawings to follow along and complete, using photos from Paint My Photo (so an free account there is needed.)

Spplies are the same as Drawing 101 except the addition of 2 lessons in Conte Sketching Pencils (black and sanguine). The class is taught assuming students know how to transfer their drawing to their sketchbook, though some tips are provided; basic highlights and shadows as taught in the prerequisite course.

What does "intermediate" mean here? The class is taught with paper and pencils - no stamps, no sketches, no net! That doesn't mean it's going to be terribly difficult, but it does mean that at least a basic facility with drawing is a must.

This class is appropriate for artists working in any genre; Lessons are taught in a sketchbook.

I had nothing but good vibes while taking this class! I love animals and nature, so having realistic animals coupled with new drawing techniques was right up my alley! Since I’d already taken Drawing 101, I had some basic drawing skills under my belt, but I loved that this class piggybacked many of the same skills I’d already been introduced to and extended my knowledge with new skills and techniques. This class pushed me to try new mediums I’d never tried—some that I’d never heard of! Since taking this class, I’m much more confident and less fearful of trying new tools and mediums. This class helped me realize that I don’t have to dig into every detail I see in a reference picture. It was awesome that Sandy taught a cool fix for not having to draw animal legs which can be quite challenging to draw! The adorable chimpanzee drawing was one of my all time favorite lessons! This Drawing Mini Class is one I’d recommend in a heartbeat! It’s a total bargain featuring 5 terrific lessons filled with helpful tips and techniques AND it’s offered at a bargain basement price!

A really good class that even a beginner can achieve fantastic results, clearly explained, interesting subjects and an excellent starting point for more realistic drawing skills

I too loved this class. Enjoyed using graphite as well as conte pencils. The small gems she taught us on how to get the eyes set correctly, and the variation of values were well worth the cost of the course and the materials.

Oh, I love this class… I learned to color with new mediums, also to draw realistic. I love the animals and want to try more of the wild animals… This course is for people with a little experience in drawing. The picture all, looks fantastic and it is a fun going through this class.
