Derwent Lightfast Hex Chart

The Derwent Lightfast Colored Pencil Hex Chart helps colorists see the brand's color arrangement in visual order. The chart makes pencil selections more visually instinctive, allowing the artist to see appropriate and sometimes surprising blending colors a few hexagons away on the chart.

NOTE: This line of pencils is made up of a lot of dark colors; that means either leaving the text labels uncolored, OR making a smooth blend across each hexagon, then printing another copy of the chart on a printable acetate sheet. That way you get a nice looking chart and can still read the words on the acetate! Also: this line of pencils has no numerical designation for each color, so there are only names on this chart.

The colored chart included makes pencil purchases easier with the ability to see similar colors to avoid spending on colors that are too near to each other, and helping to fill in gaps in an artist's collection. Note that the process of scanning and digitizing and printing alters color, but the color chart is still a help.
