Drawing on Nature: Colored Pencil Birds – Blue Tit

Use your colored pencils to create a beautiful bird in this exciting course! Capture a lovely photo reference in only five colors, while growing your color theory knowledge to apply it to anything you create!

This is a level 4 course and is taught in Polychromos pencils, only five hues; color theory will be used to turn them into more than those five colors. Prismacolors can be used to achieve very similar results as colors in the free conversion chart are quite similar.  Drawing experience is a help but extensive skill is not required; the photograph will be traced for transfer to the Pastelmat paper.

Students will also learn about the types of feathers that make up many birds, assisting in preparing for future avian drawings.
