Magical Rainforest Preclass

Welcome to the jungle! Or the rainforest. 🙂 A class in which you’ll learn how to create gorgeous rainbowlicious scenes you’ll be able to use in your artworks – with great techniques that apply to a lot more than these lessons!

Supplies for class

Below is a conversion chart of the colors needed; note that Olo doesn’t have equivalents for some colors, especially in the lightest range, and some colors as you can see in the handout that don’t match perfectly. Tap on the chart to download a copy to print out for yourself.

Other supplies you might consider but are barely used in this course:

Multiliners (marker-friendly pens) – my favorite are the SP by Copic – really smooth writers! But the only thing they’re used for in this class is making an outline (the 5″ x 7″ box). 

Isopropyl alcohol – it’s least expensive to get at your local grocery store or pharmacy. A technique is used in one lesson that shows using 99% alcohol to blur a background, but if you’d prefer to either not blur or to use a colorless blender, rock on.

Bonus lesson

After completing lessons 1-3, the bonus lesson will show you how to make a large drawing, using and adapting techniques shown throughout class! The dinosaur sketch is included in that lesson in case you’d like to add a background around him.
