One of the most relaxing mediums to watch is watercolor….the way the paint moves through the water can be positively mesmerizing! But one of the most frustrating activities for some people is actually trying to paint!
Set aside some time along with your preconceived notions about watercolor being a difficult medium. In this class, you’ll be walked through mixing basic colors – using a set of three warm colors, a red, yellow, and blue, and a set of three cool colors – a different red, yellow, and blue. Be amazed at how many different hues can be mixed by combining different colors together!
You also don’t need to know how to draw; you’ll learn how to transfer a photograph onto watercolor paper to be painted, then follow along with real-time videos to paint 5 basic fruits. A variety of techniques will be taught as you paint each one, techniques you can use in all kinds of paintings in your future!
Supplies are few – the 6 colors used are available in one small set, you’ll need a brush or two, some paper, and you can use a plate or tile instead of investing in a palette if you desire! See the supply list in the free preview lesson in the “curriculum” tab.
Join this class and see how relaxing it can be to watch color move – when it’s on your own paint brush!

Exploring Watercolors Review
This fun class is perfect for beginners and even intermediates who want to hone their skills, especially if you've been away from the medium for a while. Sketches are included so drawing skills are not necessary, and I learned how mix and blend the necessary colors with a very minimal primary color selection. During the painting process Sandy explains why certain colors and techniques are used and encourages her students to experiment and discover on their own. After practicing the fruit paintings, I was so pleased with the outcomes that they are now framed and hanging in my kitchen. I am eager to take more watercolor classes with Sandy!
