Welcome to One Rose Four Ways class! This one’s a unique one – and is made for those who use a variety of mediums. Exploring one image in various ways will really help you to “get to know” it – making each one better than the last. I hope you’ll enjoy it!
I retain the copyright to the content you are learning in class. That means…
However…I love to see students making strides and taking this teaching and personalizing it with your own skills.
At the bottom of each lesson you’ll see some ways to share your homework and ask questions, so that’ll be handy for you.
In lesson 1, you’ll be able to download a digital “sketch” of the rose, as well as a link to the photo from PMP (so go sign up for a free account there)
You can transfer the image to your paper by printing (for marker or pencil), using graphite or other transfer paper, using a lightbox, or by putting the paper and print up to a window to trace it.
Copic Sketch Markers (or choose similar colors in any brand). I get my Copics at Blick or Jacksons, and Olo markers HERE. Use your favorite paper – the demo is on Neenah.
I recommend using good watercolor paper; a pad is easier to wield, but sheets are less expensive per square inch. (If you get a bunch of sheets at a time mail order works – but for one sheet, visit your local art store.)
In the video you’ll see these synthetic brushes:
