This “Artventure Snack” course originally was located only at Artventure – our platform for sharing, asking questions, getting encouragement, and making friends along the way.
In a course like this, you can see if you like the teaching style around here. A preclass lesson like this is available for free for each course here at Art-Classes, so anytime you’d like to see what kind of supplies you’d have to get, you can view the information prior to beginning the course.
I retain the copyright to the content you are learning in class. That means…
However…I love to see students making strides and taking this teaching and personalizing it with your own skills.
At the bottom of each lesson you’ll see some ways to share your homework and ask questions, so that’ll be handy for you.
There’s a few things to get yourself ready, so let’s get rolling:

Paper: Arches Cold Press is recommended – a pad or sheet – or use what you love best. The size that the demonstration is painted on is 8″ x 11″. Since this painting has no background, if you would like a white paper that’s whiter than a pad, try one of the sheets listed below.
Paints: Used in this demo are the following Daniel Smith colors:
Brushes: use your favorites! Here are some recommendations:
Sables:
Synthetics:
Print out the sketch below at your desired size. To resize it, either place it in a word processing document and scale it (be sure you don’t stretch it unevenly on the horizontal or vertical) or resize in your printer if you have the option.
Trace it onto your watercolor paper:
Once you’re ready, head to Lesson 1 and we’ll get started painting!
